Once the teacher is quiet sure that the students are motivated enough, he can continue with the development of the topic. After the development, he should review the topic and provide some assignments to the students. In other words, introduction, development, review, assignment etc are various stages of effective teaching. All these four stages are equally important in the learning process and therefore the teacher should allot fixed time for each of them. Suppose the teacher spends too much time for introduction or development; then he will not get enough time for review and assignment and the objective of the class may not be attained. Proper time management helps the teacher to divide the entire class period into different segments, and to teach strictly in accordance with that to achieve the objectives. Aronson et al ( 1998) have pointed out that teachers can broke the allocated time into instructional time and non-instructional time† for better usage of time (Aronson et al, 1998, p. 1). In short, time management is important not only for students, but also to teachers and other professionals. There are certain tasks which needs our immediate attention. Such tasks should be prioritized based on a time frame. Some people have the habit of wasting time or doing unimportant things at present and struggle to find time for the important things later. Suppose a software professional has two assignments at present; one for today’s delivery and the other for tomorrow’s delivery. After the completion of the first project, he may have lot of time to complete the second project also; however, he may postpone the second project for tomorrow. It is quite possible that another emergency project may come tomorrow and he may struggle to finish both of it in time. A professional with better time management skill will never waste his time and he will never postpone his projects to tomorro w, if possible to finish it today. According to Bernard (2010), â€Å"By knowing what you are doing and when, then having enough time to do each activity will go a long way to helping you towards a life of reduced stress† (Barnard, 2010). Better time management skills will help a person to schedule his tasks based on priorities and complete all of them without much problems. On the other hand, a person with poor time management skills may struggle to complete his tasks in time irrespective of the hard work he may brought into his profession.
